Favorite movie: Iron man 3

Hometown: Seoul / South Korea

Non-science activity: Movie watching / travel

Dream benchmate:

One item from your bucket list: Build an animal sanctuary for abandoned animals

Your scientific interests: RNA biogenesis / Lipogenesis regulation

Current research interests: I am currently working on projects to define regulation of RNA processing and lipid metabolism by mTOR. I believe this will help us to understand how signaling pathways control metabolic processes in normal physiological and pathological conditions.

Research

I got bachelor and master degree from Korea University in South Korea. During the master, I investigated cholesterol regulatory mechanism to prevent diabetes and obesity.  I am currently working on projects to define regulation of RNA processing and lipid metabolism by mTOR with Gina Lee. I believe this will help us to understand how signaling pathways control metabolic processes in normal physiological and pathological conditions.
