Favorite movie: I don't have a favorite. I like different types of movies from "La vita è bella" and "Amélie" to "Pirates of the Caribbean" and animation movies.

Hometown: Viseu, Portugal

Non-science activity: travel, swim, read

Dream benchmate: someone as passionate for science as I am

One item from your bucket list: right now, finish my PhD!

Your scientific interests: Cancer metabolism, tumor microenvironment and metastasis

Current research interests: The metabolic requirements of epithelial to mesenchymal transition in cancer metastasis

My main area of interest is cancer cell metabolism, particularly the role of metabolism in the formation of metastasis. Specifically, I have been interested in studying the impact of metabolism on cellular migration and on epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
